As a mum with a busy toddler (& one on the way) I have been feeling the loss of mum alot more lately. I just wish she was here so I could ask her "all those questions" that only mum's know the answers to! With this in mind I have been on the search for any type of support &/or help I might be able to access on being a "Motherless Mother". To be honest there is not alot out there but I found a support group in Baulkham Hills founded by a very inspirational mum of three, Jill Wilson. The group meet on the third (3rd) Wednesday of every month at St Micheal's Family Centre, Baulkam Hills from 10:30am to 12:30pm. I am hoping to attend one of the sessions in October or November so I will let you know how I go.
Here's the article I found on the website promoting the group http://hills-shire-times.whereilive.com.au/news/story/hills-group-helps-motherless-mothers/
I would love to know more about this group!! Have been reading your site tonight with great interest. Motherless & fatherless mum of one and one on the way xo jen
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny,
DeleteThanks for your post. Where do you live? Currently there are two Motherless Mothers Groups in Sydney, one in Baulkham Hills and one in Earlwood. Which one is best for you? Let me know and I can send you the contact details.
Also, happy for you to send me an email to my personal address, cherylstrong93@gmail.com with your contact phone number and I will give you a buzz and tell you all about the groups!
Take care,
Cheryl
Hi, I know this is an old post but was wondering if you know of any similar groups in Melbourne. I can't seem to find any...
